Lynn, MA has a hidden gem downtown called VisionSpace Gallery. It's located in City Hall Square in the Centerboard building. Adam Miller is the young, energetic curator bringing amazing themed shows to the economically stressed community. Adam's dedication to a true gallery experience shows in the opening nights. Great attendance, positive atmosphere, and a professional attitude through and through. The only way Lynn will grow a positive art community is by people like Adam Miller and Organizations like Centerboard and VisionSpace working hard for artists like myself, offering their space and time to the people of their city. If you missed the show on April 12th there is still time to get over and check it out. Ask for Carla or email her at Cscheri@thecenterboard.org for hours or info.
"Face Space Place" is the April Themed show, featuring the work of
Michael Crockett, Scott Listfield and Josh Morrissette.
I was given the theme of "face" and created over 150 faces for this show, hanging them from neon twine with paint splattered cloth pins.
Here are few pictures form opening night. I'll be updating my website with the collection over time.
Supporting local communities by attending their small shows creates positive events proving that cities, like Lynn, can offer excellent night-life activities. When we support stereotypes rather than hard working people, we learn nothing about ourselves, our communities or our true place in this neck of the woods.
